After over 70 years of occupation, Beijing’s attempt to control the reincarnation process strikes at the heart of Tibetan religious identity, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Reincarnation is central to Tibetan Buddhist belief and practice rooted in the concept of the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. The attempt to control any part of Tibetan Buddhism goes completely against international law and the practice.

🚨 #TenzinDelekRinpoche - wrongly sentenced on trumped-up charges of “terrorism” and “inciting separatism”, denied a fair trial, tortured and refused adequate medical treatment. Despite all of this he continued to advocate for Tibetan rights until his untimely death in prison.

Tenzin Delek Rinpoche died in prison an innocent man. #China's treatment of him is a stark reminder of its suppression of Tibetan people. His case is just one example of the injustices faced by Tibetans. The international community must hold #China accountable for its abuses in #Tibet.
